Seek emergency help for severe weakness affecting swallowing or breathing, a serious allergic reaction, collapse, or severe breathing difficulty. These symptoms are unusual but should not wait for routine follow-up.

Ask how the diagnosis was confirmed, which treatments remain reasonable alternatives, what anaesthesia or numbing is planned, and how bladder emptying will be checked. Clarify whom to contact after discharge and what would happen if you needed catheter support.
