Bliss Chemical Peel

Chemical peels loosen selected layers of surface skin to create controlled shedding and renewal. A branded or clinic-specific name may refer to different acids, concentrations, application methods or treatment depths. Ask for the exact product and active ingredients rather than relying on the word Bliss. Glycolic acid is one possible peeling ingredient, but the label does not confirm that it is present.

The intended target might be rough texture, clogged pores, acne-related marks, melasma, sun spots or broader sun damage. Deeper or more inflammatory treatment is not automatically more suitable. Skin tone, recent tanning, active irritation, a tendency toward dark marks, cold sores and current skincare can change the chance of prolonged redness, pigment alteration, blistering or scarring.

Request a skin assessment and disclose eczema, infections, pregnancy, previous reactions, medicines and all active products, including retinoids, exfoliating acids and acne treatments. The clinician should explain treatment depth, expected frosting or stinging, how the peel is stopped or neutralised and whether a small test area is appropriate for your skin.

Use a gentle cleanser, plain moisturiser and the recommended broad-spectrum sunscreen during recovery. Leave flaking skin attached until it releases naturally; pulling it can deepen injury and worsen discoloration. Avoid scrubs, waxing, fragranced actives, heat and deliberate sun exposure until the skin barrier has recovered. Restart active skincare only according to the clinician's instructions.

Rinse as directed and seek urgent help if peel solution enters the eye or causes visual symptoms. Contact the clinic promptly for severe or increasing pain, extensive blistering, marked swelling, spreading redness, pus, fever, grey or black skin, or cold-sore-like grouped blisters. Expected tightness or light flaking should not progress into worsening raw skin or expanding areas of discoloration.

Ask for the ingredient list, peel depth, intended concern and expected recovery pattern. Clarify how the plan accounts for your skin tone and risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which products to pause, what sun protection to use, and what the clinic will do if the reaction is stronger than intended. If treating melasma, ask how recurrence triggers will be managed after peeling.
