Bleeding between periods with abdominal pain

Spotting can occur with hormonal contraception, changes around ovulation, or irritation after sex, but pain changes the assessment. Urgent assessment is also needed for persistent vomiting, a swollen rigid abdomen, or blood in stool. These features can signal internal bleeding, pregnancy complications, or significant infection.
