What should you know about black diarrhea food poisoning?

Food Poisoning commonly irritates the gut and can bring sudden diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and fever. The illness itself does not prove that black stool is harmless. Dark foods, iron, or bismuth may alter colour; sticky, tar-like stool can instead indicate digested blood. Severe gut irritation, repeated diarrhoea, and vomiting can also reduce fluids and salts. The timing of the meal, symptoms in other people, and the stool texture help a clinician assess the cause.

Take small, regular sips of water or Oral Rehydration Therapy solution, especially after each loose bowel movement. Rest, wash hands carefully, and prepare simple foods when appetite returns. Avoid alcohol and rich foods while symptoms are active. Record when symptoms started, recent meals, medicines, fever, pain, and urine output.
