Belifu TENS Unit: Use, Limits and Safety

Short answer
A Belifu TENS unit applies controlled electrical pulses through adhesive pads and may provide temporary relief for certain painful conditions.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- Main role
- Short-term modulation of pain signals
- Pad surface
- Clean, dry, intact skin with normal sensation
- Important limit
- Reduced pain does not establish healing
Direct answer
It is a symptom-management device rather than a treatment for every cause of pain. Belifu models may differ in their available modes, channels and controls; match any setup advice to the manual packaged with your exact unit.
What TENS can and cannot tell you
Electrical pulses activate nerves beneath the pads and can modify pain perception for some users. The sensation may pulse or remain constant depending on the selected program, but it should stay comfortable. Turning pain down does not confirm that movement is safe or that damaged tissue has recovered.
A useful trial has a defined goal, such as making a prescribed exercise or daily task more manageable. Track whether function changes, whether irritation develops and whether symptoms return immediately after use; that information helps a clinician judge its value.
Before switching the unit on
Check the leads and pads for damage, clean and dry the skin, and attach the electrodes with the intensity turned down. Follow the supplied diagram for pad spacing and body location. Raise the setting slowly until tingling is clear yet comfortable, then turn it down before moving or removing any electrode.
Keep current away from the chest, head and front or sides of the neck. Do not apply pads over wounds, infection, markedly reduced sensation or irritated skin. Ask a qualified clinician before use with an implanted electronic device, epilepsy, heart rhythm problems, pregnancy, recent surgery or unexplained pain.
Warning signs that TENS should not mask
Discontinue the session if you develop burning, blistering, troublesome redness, dizziness, irregular heartbeat sensations or worsening symptoms. Seek emergency care for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, fainting, sudden weakness, new bladder or bowel dysfunction, or a visibly deformed injured limb.
Pain that is unexplained, steadily worsening, associated with fever or accompanied by numbness deserves clinical assessment. The priority is identifying the cause before relying on repeated electrical stimulation.
Questions before regular use
Ask your clinician which diagnosis is being managed, whether any medical history makes TENS unsuitable, and how to position the pads for your body region. Clarify what improvement to monitor and which symptom changes should prompt you to stop.

Questions people ask
Is stronger stimulation more effective?
Not automatically. Excessive intensity can be uncomfortable and irritate the skin. Use a clear but comfortable sensation within the instructions for your device.
Can I use worn adhesive pads?
Pads that lift or make uneven contact may produce an unpleasant concentrated sensation. Replace them according to the product instructions rather than taping damaged pads down.
