Ayurvedic treatment for sweaty hands and feet

Short answer
Excessive sweating of the hands or feet is unlikely to be controlled reliably by Ayurvedic remedies, some of which irritate damp skin.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.
At a glance
- Typical focal pattern
- Both palms or both soles are often involved
- Skin concern
- Persistent moisture can promote cracking and fungal overgrowth
- Clinical options
- Prescription antiperspirant and iontophoresis may be considered
The short answer
Keeping skin dry and intact can reduce secondary problems, while a clinician can check whether the sweating is focal hyperhidrosis or a sign of another health issue.
Why palms and soles can sweat heavily
Focal hyperhidrosis causes sweating beyond what is needed for cooling, often affecting both palms or both soles. Dampness can interfere with grip, footwear and daily tasks. Constant moisture may soften skin, encourage cracks and make fungal infection more likely, but sweating itself is not the same as athlete's foot.
Powders, herbal pastes and essential oils may cause irritation or allergy, particularly between the toes or on fissured skin. Oral traditional products also require an ingredient and interaction check rather than being assumed safe because they are plant-based.
Protect skin and reduce moisture
Dry carefully between the toes, rotate breathable shoes, change damp socks and use separate towels if a scaly foot rash is present. Avoid applying spice-based pastes, concentrated oils or unknown powders to broken skin. A small-area test cannot rule out every reaction, so stop any topical remedy that causes burning, itching or swelling.
Clinical options include prescription-strength antiperspirant and iontophoresis, which passes a mild electrical current through water to reduce sweating in hands or feet. The choice depends on skin condition, implanted electrical devices, pregnancy and other medical factors, so suitability should be assessed before treatment.
When sweating needs review
Arrange medical review if sweating begins suddenly, occurs mainly during sleep, affects only one side or comes with fever, tremor, racing heartbeat, faintness or unexplained weight change. Painful cracks, spreading redness, warmth, pus or swelling need assessment for infection. Seek urgent help if heavy sweating accompanies chest pain, severe breathlessness or collapse.
What to ask at your visit
Ask whether the pattern fits focal hyperhidrosis, whether medicines or another condition could contribute, and how to protect cracked or infected skin. Bring the labels of Ayurvedic remedies and ask which antiperspirant strength or device-based option is appropriate for your hands, feet and health history.

Questions people ask
Can herbal powder safely absorb sweat between the toes?
An unknown powder may clump, irritate softened skin or hide a worsening rash. Use a product recommended for the area and keep toe spaces clean and dry.
Does sweaty skin mean I have athlete's foot?
No. Excess moisture can make fungal infection easier to develop, but itching, scale, cracks or a changing rash need examination for the correct diagnosis.
