What to know about an Auvon dual-channel TENS unit

TENS may temporarily change how pain is felt, but it does not diagnose the cause, repair an injury, or replace treatment for an underlying condition.

Each channel connects to its own electrode pair, so you can treat two nearby areas or surround one painful region while adjusting each output independently. The sensation should feel strong but comfortable, without sharpness, burning, or painful muscle contraction.

Program names describe pulse patterns rather than different medical treatments. The most useful setting is one that remains comfortable and supports the activity or rest period recommended for your condition.

Read the instructions for your exact model. With the output off, place intact pads on clean, dry, healthy skin around the painful area, connect the leads, choose a program, and raise intensity slowly. Turn the output off before moving or removing pads.

Do not place electrodes across the chest, on the front or sides of the neck, over the head, on broken or numb skin, or where current could pass through the torso. Do not use the device while driving, bathing, sleeping, or operating machinery. Obtain clinical advice first if you have an implanted electrical device, heart rhythm condition, epilepsy, pregnancy, impaired sensation, or uncertain pain.

Stop stimulation if it causes dizziness, faintness, palpitations, worsening pain, a burn, marked skin irritation, or unexpected muscle movement. Remove the pads and seek urgent care for chest pain, breathing difficulty, sudden weakness, new loss of bladder or bowel control, or severe pain after significant injury.

Arrange an assessment when pain is new, unexplained, progressively worsening, or accompanied by fever, swelling, redness, numbness, or weakness. Masking pain should not delay evaluation of these features.

A physiotherapist or clinician can show you electrode positions for the diagnosed problem, explain when to use TENS alongside exercise, and check whether reduced skin sensation or another health condition changes the safety advice.
