Filler in the Apples of the Cheeks

The apples are the rounded areas at the front of the cheeks that become more noticeable with a smile. Treating this zone is different from placing filler over the outer cheekbone, which tends to emphasise lateral contour and structure.

Anterior cheek filler may restore volume loss, soften a flattened midface, or create a rounder cheek transition. Too much volume or poorly chosen placement can make the cheeks look heavy, exaggerate fullness beside the nose, or become more prominent when smiling.

Hyaluronic acid filler is commonly considered because its gel characteristics can be selected for the treatment plane and desired movement. Product choice does not replace careful assessment of skin thickness, existing volume, facial asymmetry, smile dynamics, and the nearby blood vessels.

Choose a licensed medical practitioner with specific experience in facial injectables. Severe or escalating pain, pale or dusky skin, a net-like mottled colour, cool skin, or blisters near the treated area can indicate impaired blood flow and need immediate assessment. Any blurred vision, loss of vision, double vision, severe headache, weakness, facial droop, or speech difficulty after filler is an emergency; seek emergency care at once and tell the team that facial filler was injected.

Confirm who will perform the injections, what qualification and complication training they have, and whether the proposed result matches photos of your face in motion. Ask what product will be used, how it can be traced, what aftercare is expected, how complications are handled, and whom to contact outside clinic hours.
