Haarentfernung is the German term for hair removal. In this treatment, light is absorbed by pigment in the hair and converted to heat around the follicle. It is generally more responsive when hair contains visible pigment; white, grey, very light blond, or some red hair may respond poorly because there is little suitable pigment to target.

Hair grows in cycles, so a course of visits may be discussed rather than expecting every follicle to respond at once. The aim is lasting reduction, not a promise that no hair will ever grow again. Maintenance can sometimes be considered if growth returns.

Tell the practitioner about recent tanning, medicines that affect light sensitivity, skin conditions, scarring, pigment changes, and any previous laser reaction. Urgent assessment is appropriate for breathing difficulty, marked facial swelling, severe eye pain, or any sudden change in vision.

Ask whether your hair and skin contrast suits the device, how recent sun exposure changes the plan, and who will select the settings. Confirm which eye protection is used, which products to pause, what normal shedding looks like, and how unwanted pigment change or paradoxical hair growth would be managed.
