The embryo is placed inside the uterus, but the procedure itself cannot confirm whether implantation will follow. The next dependable checkpoint is the pregnancy test arranged by the fertility clinic.

If implantation progresses, cells that later form the placenta begin producing the hormone measured by pregnancy tests. This develops gradually, which is why a test taken before the planned date may not give a clear answer.

Some people notice pelvic twinges, light spotting, bloating, breast soreness or fatigue; others feel unchanged. The transfer procedure and fertility medicines can cause similar effects, so the presence or absence of symptoms cannot predict the result. Vaginal progesterone may also leave a harmless residue or increase discharge.

Continue every prescribed medicine on schedule and check with the clinic before changing a dose. Resume routine gentle activities according to the instructions you received, and avoid any activity, medicine or supplement your team specifically restricted. Complete bed rest does not provide a way to monitor or secure implantation.

Keep the clinic's test appointment even if bleeding occurs, unless the team gives different instructions. Record troublesome symptoms and medicine doses so you can describe them accurately. For discomfort, ask which pain reliever is appropriate for your protocol rather than choosing a new product without checking.

Contact the fertility service without delay if bleeding becomes heavy, pain is severe or worsening, vomiting prevents fluids staying down, or you develop fever or marked abdominal swelling. Faintness, collapse, sharp pain focused on one side, chest pain or shortness of breath warrants urgent assessment. Do not use a home pregnancy result to decide whether these symptoms can wait.

Confirm the exact test date, whether blood testing or a home urine test is planned, and what to do after either result. Ask for a written medicine schedule, guidance for missed progesterone, activity limits suited to your circumstances, and an emergency contact for nights or weekends.
