After embryo transfer, day by day

The embryo's developmental stage at transfer, the type of cycle, and individual hormone treatment all affect timing. A calendar that assigns a particular sensation to each day cannot confirm implantation or predict the result.

Soon after the procedure, mild cramping or a small amount of spotting may come from the catheter passing through the cervix. Later, progesterone can contribute to bloating, breast tenderness, tiredness, discharge, or constipation. Some people notice nothing.

These overlapping causes make symptom tracking unreliable. Bleeding can also have several explanations, so it should be assessed by amount, pain, and associated warning signs rather than treated as a definite result.

Each day, take prescribed medication by the correct route and at the planned times. Maintain ordinary meals, fluids, sleep, and comfortable movement, following any special limits from your fertility team. Avoid using internet symptom calendars to change treatment.

Write down questions and symptoms that are worsening, but try not to interpret every sensation. On the clinic's chosen date, complete the specified pregnancy test and report the result as instructed. Continue hormone support until the team explicitly tells you when to stop.

Call the clinic promptly for heavy bleeding, fever, escalating abdominal pain or distension, ongoing vomiting, faintness, or much less urine than usual. Breathing difficulty, chest pain, coughing blood, collapse, extensive swelling, or intense one-sided lower abdominal pain with dizziness or shoulder-tip pain needs emergency care.

Urgency depends on the symptom and its severity, not which day it appears.

Ask which day to test, whether the embryo's stage changes that date, how to handle a missed medicine dose, and when bleeding or pain should trigger a call. Confirm whether the clinic wants a home urine test, blood test, or another follow-up method.
