Mesotherapy is a broad label for small injections into or beneath the skin, not one standard formula. Some practitioners offer it for skin quality or local contour concerns, but the expected effect and risk profile depend on exactly what is injected. It is not a substitute for weight management or surgery when substantial tissue removal is the goal.

A fair comparison uses the same posture, camera height, distance, lighting, clothing position, and degree of abdominal muscle tension. Changes in hydration, bloating, recent meals, shadows, or how firmly clothing presses the skin can create an apparent contour difference unrelated to treatment.

Early photographs may show temporary swelling, redness, bruising, or small raised injection points. Ask whether images are unedited, when they were taken, what product and technique were used, and whether the person had other treatments or lifestyle changes. Another person’s photograph cannot predict your outcome.

Before treatment, request the product name, ingredients, intended purpose, and who will perform the injections. Tell the clinician about allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, skin disease, previous reactions, bleeding problems, and every medicine or supplement you take. Do not stop prescribed medication unless the prescriber directs you. Active rash, infection, or an unhealed wound on the abdomen should be assessed before injection.

Afterward, follow the product-specific instructions, keep the area clean, avoid scratching or squeezing injection sites, and wear clothing that does not rub tender skin. Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain is worsening rather than settling, redness or warmth is spreading, swelling is marked, discharge appears, or the skin develops blistering, darkening, unusual paleness, or an open sore. Fever or feeling generally unwell alongside a worsening injection-site reaction also needs timely medical assessment.

Seek emergency help for difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, faintness, confusion, or a rapidly progressing reaction. Keep the product details available so the assessing team knows what was injected.

Ask whether the proposed product is intended for injection in the abdomen, what change is realistic for your concern, and which side effects would alter the plan. Clarify who supplies the product, how sterility is maintained, what aftercare is required, and whom to contact outside clinic hours. Also ask how progress will be documented under consistent conditions.
