By this point, the clinic may have arranged a pregnancy blood test and, if it is positive, planned an early ultrasound. Symptoms such as breast tenderness, tiredness, mild cramps or no symptoms at all cannot reliably show whether treatment has worked.

The clinic interprets pregnancy hormone results in the context of the transfer date and may repeat a blood test if the result or symptoms require clarification. An early ultrasound is used later to check where the pregnancy is developing and to assess its progress; a home test cannot provide that information.

Light spotting or mild pelvic sensations can occur, including from vaginal progesterone, but neither confirms nor rules out pregnancy. Bleeding after a positive test needs discussion with the fertility team because follow-up may be required even when discomfort is mild.

Take the pregnancy test on the date and by the method your clinic specified, then report the result as instructed. Keep taking progesterone and any other prescribed medicine at the same dose unless the fertility team tells you to change or stop it. Arrange refills early enough to avoid missed doses.

Normal daily movement is generally reasonable if you feel well, while strenuous activity should follow your clinic's personalised advice. Choose food-safety and medicine precautions suitable for pregnancy after a positive result. Before starting an over-the-counter medicine or supplement, check it with a pharmacist or clinician who knows about the transfer.

Seek urgent medical assessment for severe or one-sided abdominal pain, shoulder-tip pain, fainting, marked dizziness, heavy vaginal bleeding, breathing difficulty, chest pain, rapidly worsening abdominal swelling, persistent vomiting or passing very little urine. These symptoms need timely evaluation for problems such as an ectopic pregnancy, significant bleeding or ovarian hyperstimulation.

Contact emergency services if you collapse, have severe breathing difficulty or cannot get to care safely. Otherwise, call the fertility clinic's urgent number or attend the emergency department and state that you recently had an embryo transfer.

Confirm when your next blood test or ultrasound is due, how results will be communicated, and which number to call outside clinic hours. Ask exactly how long to continue each medicine, what to do after a missed dose, and whether your work, exercise, travel or previous medical history changes the advice.
