By this point, the clinic will usually expect you to have completed its scheduled pregnancy test. A blood test can confirm whether pregnancy hormone is present, while repeat testing or an ultrasound may be arranged to clarify how the pregnancy is developing.

A positive test shows that pregnancy hormone has been detected, but it does not by itself confirm the pregnancy's location or ongoing development. Your fertility team interprets the result alongside its timing and may arrange another blood test or a later scan. A negative or unclear result also needs the clinic's interpretation, especially if testing occurred outside the advised schedule.

Breast tenderness, tiredness, bloating, mild cramps, light spotting, or no symptoms at all can occur after transfer. These experiences cannot reliably distinguish pregnancy from the effects of fertility medicines or the menstrual cycle. Bleeding does not establish the outcome either, so report it and follow the testing plan rather than drawing a conclusion from symptoms alone.

Take every prescribed medicine at the instructed dose and time. Do not stop progesterone or another fertility medicine because of spotting, a home-test result, or improving symptoms unless the treating team tells you to. If you missed a dose, contact the clinic or pharmacist for advice specific to that medicine instead of doubling it on your own.

Share the test result with the clinic and attend planned blood tests or scans. Normal daily movement is generally reasonable unless your team has set restrictions for your situation. Avoid starting medicines, supplements, or herbal products without checking that they are suitable during a possible early pregnancy.

Get urgent medical help for severe or worsening abdominal or pelvic pain, especially pain focused on one side; shoulder-tip pain; fainting, marked dizziness, heavy bleeding, chest pain, or difficulty breathing. These signs need prompt assessment even after a positive test because an early pregnancy can occasionally develop outside the uterus or another complication may be present.

Contact the fertility team promptly for increasing abdominal swelling, persistent vomiting, reduced urination, fever, bleeding that concerns you, or pain that is not settling. The team can tell you whether to attend the clinic, an emergency department, or another appropriate service.
